Introduction ---
This
is our second-time visit to Kyushu, Japan, which was a happy and fruitful 7-day trip. My wife and three relatives
of hers went with me. We enjoyed the time of being together in the trip very much.
The journey included visits to many natural landscapes and cultural landmarks. One of the most memorable parts of the trip was riding a classic train from northern Kyushu down to a southern city, taking in the beautiful mountain and sea views, and witnessing breathtaking sunsets.

Another highlight of the trip was our visit to a volcano, which satisfied my curiosity—even though we didn’t see the actual crater, we explored the nearby rocky surroundings. A third memorable moment was a unique meal where every dish was made from pufferfish, which is poisonous if not prepared properly. And the most impressive experience of all was visiting the scenic residence of Atsuhime (篤姬), a well-known historical figure who played a key role in the peaceful transition from imperial Japan to the modern era.
Overall, the trip was educational and rewarding. Both the food we enjoyed and the hotel we stayed in were of excellent quality. With fond memories in our hearts, we hope to return to this beautiful part of Japan again in the future.
